Innovation - it's a good thing.

I heard a quote from someone in the past month that has really stuck with me. "You can complain about change and become irrelevant or embrace it and move forward." Sometimes that's a hard thing to do - leave what's comfortable or leave what's working for something new. Vandoren has a very interesting way of looking at innovation.To Vandoren innovation is what keeps musicians fresh and sparks creativity and new ideas. With that in mind, Vandoren has something very innovative on the horizon. It's called the Masters clarinet mouthpiece and according to Mr. Van Doren it's  a revolution that could change the way clarinetists think about mouthpieces. The Masters mouthpiece blank is not cylindrical - it's conical which means the designers had more room to work in the chamber which is dramatically different than other clarinet mouthpieces Vandoren makes. The outer dimension is so different that it requires its own custom designed ligature to work with it. Early performances with this mouthpiece by some very powerful players have been overwhelmingly positive. The Masters mouthpieces will be here in April so ask for them from your Vandoren dealer.
