Hamilton Stands Announces Thankless Task Winner

May 2011 Chicago, IL- Launched in 2010 by Hamilton Stands ”The Band Director Thankless Tasks” contest gave band directors everywhere the opportunity to tell the world about the thankless tasks they conduct every day while getting a chance to win a free classroom full of Hamilton KB95E Symphonic music stands.

The contest was wildly successful. The thankless tasks ranged from chauffeur all the way to band room janitor. The winner, Michael K. a middle school band director from Illinois, was announced May 1st. His thankless task was cataloging 1000’s of separate, unorganized pieces of music after a school computer malfunction dumped all the files from the library system. “I’m ecstatic that we have won this prize,” commented Michael K. “Our school could really use the music stands, and there is nothing like getting the best available for free.”

The school will receive two stand carts full of Hamilton’s KB95E symphonic music stands totaling 48 free music stands. “I think it is great to see so much band director involvement,” stated Richard Galime, U.S. Hamilton Product Specialist. “Music stands are a vital part of any school music program and while we can’t file Michael’s music for him at least we can give him and his students a high-quality place to put it.”
