Born from a diverse cultural background, Jacques Schwarz-Bart fell in love with music at a relatively late age. After picking up the tenor saxophone at 24, he waited just three short years to quit his job in the French Senate to pursue a career in music. Since then, he’s bounced around the world playing with famous players, before settling into a groove as the leader of his own band, the Gwoka Jazz Project. He’s still pursuing new avenues of music, ranging from straight jazz to Caribbean roots, as well as Haitian voodoo music. To learn more about Jacques Schwarz-Bart, visit
