April, 2009 Chicago – After less than a month on the market, Vandoren’s new Java Red jazz reeds are heating up dealers’ shelves and players’ sounds already. The Java Red is the first file-cut jazz reed from Vandoren.

The driving force behind this design was to offer more sonic possibilities while keeping the qualities of the original Java design. By any measure, this was a success. This new cut is more flexible than the original Java and has more tonal body while still offering a full, rich, centered sound with excellent projection and extremely precise attacks. These reeds are available for soprano, alto and tenor saxophones.

“We’ve received a lot of very positive comments on the new Java Reds,” said Sylvain Carton, DANSR’s west coast artist advisor and product specialist. “Every artist we’ve worked with has noticed the increased flexibility, projection and ‘snap’ of the new cut. For saxophonists that are looking for these kinds of playing characteristics, this is a reed they must try.”
