Ray Blue is a saxophonist, bandleader and composer. His music can be described as a fusion of straight ahead jazz and African groove. "It's one thing to be a good composer it's another to be a great performer. Ray Blue's got the whole package."(Jazz Hot, Down Beat) Over the years this award winning New York based saxophonist has shared the stage and studio as leader, sideman or band member with John Gilmore, Dr. Art Davis, Benny Powell, Kirk Lightsey, Tom McClung, Bernard Purdie, Patience Higgins, Danny Mixon, Wycliff Gordon, Steve Turre, Gary Bartz, Kenny Davis, Corcoran Holt, Eddie Henderson, Alvester Garnet, Bruce Cox, Greg Bandy, the Sun Ra Arkestra, Cotton Club All Stars and many others.

Blue conducts workshops and master classes at colleges, schools, and community institutions around the world. He is the founder of Cross-Cultural Connection, Inc. a 501 (c) 3 organization that promotes jazz culture, education and performance. Mr. Blue was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame (2013), the Tri-M Music Honor Society (2012), and received the Distinguished Career Award from William Penn University (2010).
