The J5 delivers a round, centered tone with easy response in all registers, helping new clarinetists build confidence and healthy fundamentals from their very first notes. It also features two durable O-rings instead of cork, providing a reliable seal and easier maintenance.

Its technical characteristics are identical to those of standard ebonite, but its sound quality is enhanced by the unique acoustic properties of HD ebonite.
