VK1 Synthetic Reed

Nothing beats the sound of a great cane reed, but certain situations call for something different. Introducing the Vandoren VK1 synthetic reed. Something entirely different yet unmistakably Vandoren for when you need it the most.

The VK is a synthetic reed made of a composite material specially developed by Vandoren in the South of France. It is the result of 7 years of research. The composite material does not imitate the structure of cane, but instead reproduces the essential performance characteristics of the reed to obtain the same acoustic behavior.

The Vandoren VK1 material is also 100% recyclable, hypoallergenic, and complies with strict European chemical safety standards held for use by children.

The Vandoren Black Diamond Ebonite family expands yet again with the new BD2, representing the first new closed facing Boehm system mouthpiece from Vandoren in years

The BD2 combines the M13 Lyre table with the internal and external dimensions unique to the Black Diamond family. This results in a pure, round sound with precise response. Available in 13 series (A=440) and non-13 series (A=442) models.
